THE HOME
Ironwood & Intention
Kubu Sidem was built over seventeen years from reclaimed antique ironwood, shaped entirely by hand. Every beam, floor, and wall panel tells a story of patience and craft. The home sits elevated within the jungle canopy, open to the sounds of the river below and the breeze through the valley.
The interior is deliberately minimal — polished concrete, natural timber, and handwoven textiles create a space that feels both refined and grounded. Large openings frame the surrounding jungle, blurring the boundary between inside and out.
THE GROUNDS
Jungle & Plantation
The property is set on a steep jungle hillside in the highlands of Payangan, surrounded by tropical forest and terraced rice fields. Walking paths wind through the grounds, past fruit trees, flowering plants, and a working indigo plantation.
A natural spring-fed pool is carved into the hillside, shaded by frangipani and coconut palms. The river runs along the bottom of the valley, accessible by a stone path through the lower garden.
